Northwest Asian American Theatre Poster Collection
Formerly Theatrical Ensemble of Asians, The Northwest Asian American Theatre was created in 1972 by a group of University of Washington students. A true community theatre, not only were major Asian American plays performed but each year featured community fundraising events. In a later reflection by Judith Nihei, who would become the creative director for the group, “Asians weren’t being cast in mainstream productions. So we figured we’d better do our own productions.”
In this year of no live theater you can look back at past presentations and look to support theatre in your community: https://www.theatreinseattle.com/maps/mapTheatres.php
